Hi there!
Welcome to Day 5 for Optimizing Your Onboarding Flow, the email course that will make your business convert more users by making them feel confident to use your product.
Today, for our final lesson (it went by so fast!), we will explore the best practices and strategies to monitor your onboarding flow performances and refine it overtime.
We’ll break down the lesson into 2 sections:
Ready? Let’s go!
Different testing strategies will bring different perspectives and feedback regarding your onboarding flow and product.
Let’s explore each one and see their benefits:
Focus on micro details and interactions to test hypothesis on ways to gradually optimize your onboarding flow. It is essential to test on specific demographics and not do testings on your entire traffic as one mistake could drastically impact your business.
The process is simple: Create hypothesis based on current performances, test each hypothesis (B) with the current design (A) on a targeted and small demographic, pick the winner and continue to test/iterate.
It is a fantastic opportunity to try out-of-the-box ideas and see if they actually bring result to your performances or not.
Interview users that fall into your targeted audience, on targeted flows that you want to improve or get more insight on. It is important to filter out the users you will interview since they might have different goals and expectations.
The process is straightforward: Identify the goal you want to achieve by doing usability testings, with a clear hypothesis to prove/disprove, a specific flow, and then list down all the tasks the user will have to do. Make sure to clearly outline each action and ask them questions about it.
